With thrash metal band Slayer at his back, a Florida man took on Hurricane Florence and won. Lane Pittman traveled from Jacksonville to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina with one thing in mind: taking on the storm. To the soundtrack of Slayer’s “Raining Blood,” Pittman grabbed an American flag and stared down Mother Nature.

Pittman launched a GoFundMe campaign to pay for his trip. Despite only asking for $150 to cover gas and coffee, he raised more than $1,000.

This wasn’t the first time Pittman pulled off a stunt like this. He did the same thing when Hurricane Matthew hit Florida in 2016.
