Could We See More Concerts From "The Big 4" In The Future?

December 27, 2016
Megadeth frontman Dave Mustaine and Metallica bassist Robert Trujillo have both commented on their desire for more "Big Four" concerts in the future. "The Big Four" of thrash music - Metallica, Slayer, Megadeth and Anthrax - performed together in 2010 and 2011 and now Mustaine tells DJ Eddie Trunk on SiriusXM that he wants an "even shot" in front of fans.

Mustaine says, "If the conditions were right I think it would be great - when it's just the four of us. If you do the Big Four and you've got four or five little opening bands, that takes away from the phenomenon. We should all have relatively similar set times, we should all have relatively similar staging - really allow the four of us to be presented as equals and see where the chips lie."

Mustaine went on to say Metallica's headline status resulted in some shows feeling like "three openers and another band".
