Hope For The Holidays 12.21.17.

December 22, 2017

Dear Johnny,

I’m writing this letter because I am in need for myself and my family. I’m married to a wonderful man that would do anything in the world for me and his children. He was injured in an accident at work and is unable to return to his job. He has had 8 back surgeries, 2 spinal fusions, and 2 rods and 8 bolts in his back and hips. We do receive some disability and I have been working to help provide for us. Unfortunately, we have had some recent changes. My 10 year old daughter, Gloria, has been sick for the last 6 or 7 months and doctors could not figure out what was going on. She was admitted to Children’s Mercy on October 17th where doctors diagnosed her with pancreatitis and Crohns Disease. I have since had to take a lot of time off work to stay at home and help care for her. With medical bills, doctor visits, and time off work, it has been a real strain on our family. We are in the middle of trying to move to more affordable housing, but in the meantime my electric and heat are in jeopardy of being shut off on the 21st of this month. Not only do I need to come up with money to avoid being shut off, but I have to figure out deposit and first months rent for our new place. I have no idea where Christmas will come from. Thank you for reading my letter.

I greatly appreciate it.
