The story of Wes Scantlin and his band Puddle of Mudd reads like a movie script...local unknown band fights for success in the clubs of Kansas City...they eventually break up, but then their demo tape reaches a big rock star ( Fred Durst of Limp Bizkit) and they sign a recording contract...then they release a single that becomes the most played song on the radio in the country ("Blurry")...they sell 7 million albums and tour the world...lead singer struggles with fame, substance abuse and the police, but comes out the other side, clean, focused and ready for redemption.
And that is where Wes finds himself today...clean and sober with a triumphant new album, "Welcome To Galvania."
We had the chance to catch up with our old friend on tour in California and after 20 plus years, he's still the same guy inside we rooted for from the beginning!
