Disturbed Starts Their Tour, Rock the Stage at 'Jimmy Kimmel Live'

The band shows off both sides of 'Evolution' on the late night show

January 11, 2019

Rather than rush to the road, Disturbed let the ambition of Evolution sink in before starting their world tour in 2019. The album, which was released in October, is an exciting sonic step forward for the band as they incorporate more of the acoustic guitar into their music and expand the meaning of what a "Disturbed song" sounds like.

Bolstered by the success of their cover of "The Sound Of Silence", David Draiman and the band got adventurous on Evolution. "This time out we prioritized the acoustics" Draiman told us last year.. "They came together so convincingly and so powerfully that they lent themselves to the whole idea that we had had in our mind to begin with, of creating a classic rock vibed record."

The band showed off both sides of Evolution for the crowd at Jimmy Kimmel Live on Thursday. Seated with acoustic guitars, they played the more muted but incredibly powerful "A Reason To Fight" in the video above, and also turned up the intensity for the jawbreaking blast of "Are You Ready" in the video below.

In total, the two songs were part of a mini-concert for the show, which also included classics "The Game" and "Down With The Sickness." All four songs also popped up on the setlist for the first show on their tour which kicked off this week. On Wednesday the band played their first show on the year in San Diego, featuring support from Three Days Grace. The tour continues around the country into March.
