It's pretty safe to say that if there is one band who is truly keeping the spirit of Southern Rock alive right now, it's Blackberry Smoke.
And ground zero for the original Southern Rock movement was Carpicorn Sound Studios in Macon Georgia.
Which is why, when the studio reopened their doors, BBS was invited down for a good ol' fashioned jam.
And from that sprang the band's new EP, due out June 19th, "Live From Capricorn Sound Studios"...a covers album featuring BBS's versions of songs by The Allman Bros, The Marshall Tucker Band, Wet Willie and the legendary Little RIchard.
We got frontman and Friend of the Show, Charlie Starr on the phone to talk about the new album, upcoming tour plans, and how he's dealing with being off the road for the first time in 20 years due to the Covid 19 Quarantine!
