Avenged Sevenfold recently released new track “Mad Hatter,” a brooding song for the Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 soundtrack.  After an “Oh Sh*t!” moment, frontman M. Shadows realized it didn’t sound quite how they wanted it to.

In an Avenged Sevenfold Reddit thread, Shadows was reading through complaints about the song’s mix and quickly decided to re-mix the track.

He explained that the band was experimenting with new techniques, leading to the unintentional muddying of the song. “Once the compression of streaming services and radio got a hold of it the clarity become muddied. I heard it on the radio and was like 'Oh Sh*t!'”

That’s the definition of accepting mistakes and taking criticism, even 20 years into the game. The updated version of the track is available on all streaming services and on radio today. And, if you’re really about quality, the band shared the .wav file here
